Gobinda Chandra Basumatary

Gobinda Chandra Basumatari was born in Sopongaon, a remote & interior village of Udalguri District on the 1st December. 1958, in the family of late Khanda Basumatari (father) and late Sagini Basumatari (mother). At present he is the MLA of 69 Udalguri Constituency and also the Deputy CEM of BTR. He started his education in No 2 Bandarguri Primary School in 1966, then completed Senior Basic from Sonaigaon M E School in 1969, then completed his secondary education from Harisinga High School in 1974. He completed Graduation (Arts) from Biswanath College in 1980, comleted B Ed from Post Graduate College, Kokrajhar in 1988 and completed M A in English from Global Open University, Nagaland in 2014. He was the General Secretary till 2019 and President of the NDFB(P) till the BTR accord was signed on the 27 th January, 2020. He is the resident of Angrajuli village, of Bhairabkunda area of Udalguri District.
